Submission Guidelines

All manuscripts must strictly adhere to the Journal guidelines below. Non-compliance may result in rejection of the manuscript.

I. Types of Submissions

Jus Scriptum Law Journal accepts manuscripts on topics of contemporary legal relevance within the following categories:

Note: Word limits include footnotes and the abstract but exclude references.

Required Sections

1. Abstract (300–500 words)
2. Keywords (minimum 5)
3. Introduction
4. Main Body
5. Conclusion

II. General Submission Guidelines

• The Journal accepts original and innovative submissions in English on the understanding that the work is unpublished and is not being considered for publication elsewhere.
• Authors are strongly encouraged to have their manuscript reviewed for English-language quality by a competent and knowledgeable speaker before submission. Failure to meet the language requirements may delay review or result in rejection.
• A manuscript may have no more than two co-authors. An author, or a team of co-authors, may submit only one manuscript at a time.
• Original research papers must contain unpublished results of original research, presented in sufficient detail to support reproducibility and to demonstrate a significant contribution to knowledge.
• Submissions must be provided as Microsoft Word files (.doc or .docx) only.

III. Style Guidelines

• Font: Times New Roman
• Font size: 14 pt for headings, 12 pt for the main body, and 10 pt for footnotes
• Line spacing: 1.5 for the main body and 1.0 for footnotes
• Text alignment: Justified
• Headings must be capitalized consistently
• Acronyms and shortened forms must be written out in full at first use, followed by the acronym or shortened form in parentheses.
• Names of cases, statutes, publications, books, emphasized words, and uncommon foreign words must be italicized.
• Numbers should be written in words, and percentages should use the % symbol.

IV. Citation Style

Manuscripts must be prepared and submitted strictly in accordance with the Indian Law Institute (ILI) Citation Style.

V. Originality Rule

Plagiarism & AI Policy

• The submitted manuscript must be the author’s original intellectual work.
• All sources—including text, tables, figures, and ideas borrowed from other works—must be properly acknowledged and cited.
• The use of AI-assisted tools, if any, must not compromise the manuscript’s originality, authenticity, or academic integrity.
• The Editorial Board reserves the right to screen all submissions using Turnitin plagiarism-detection software.
• Manuscripts containing plagiarism, self-plagiarism, fabricated or falsified data, or any other form of academic misconduct will be rejected immediately.
• The overall similarity index must not exceed 10%.
• References, quotations, bibliography, and commonly used legal terms may be excluded from the similarity assessment at the Editorial Board’s discretion.

Submit through the online submission portal or email the manuscript to submission@jusscriptumlaw.com. Ensure that all author details are accurate; the corresponding author will receive all communications concerning the manuscript.

Submission Policy

Authors will be informed of their manuscript’s status after every stage of review. Editorial decisions are based solely on review of the final manuscript, and requests for expedited review will not be entertained.

Manuscripts that do not conform to these guidelines may be rejected at the sole discretion of the Editorial Board. The Board may return a manuscript to its author for modification at any stage if it does not comply with the submission guidelines.

The Editorial Board may, at its absolute discretion, waive any of these rules or amend the process.

In the event of any dispute or ambiguity, the decision of the Editorial Board is final and binding.
