GJS Eligibility Criteria 2025
1. Age Limit
· General category candidates must not exceed 35 years of age.
· SC/ST/SEBC/EWS/PwBD candidates must not exceed 38 years.
· Employees in Courts or allied departments get a relaxation of up to 5 years.
2. Educational Qualification
· A Law degree from a recognized university.
· Must pass the All India Bar Examination (AIBE) if the degree was obtained in or after 2009-2010.
3. Language Proficiency
· Candidates who have not studied Gujarati in SSC/HSC must pass the Gujarati Language Proficiency Test.
4. Character and Conduct
· Must possess a good character certificate.
· Should not have any criminal record or pending cases.

1. Preliminary Examination (Objective Type)
· Duration: 2 hours
· Marks: 100 (Negative marking of 0.33 per incorrect answer)
· Syllabus:
The Preliminary Examination (Elimination Test) shall be of 100 Marks, the duration whereof will be 02 Hours, consisting of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) each of 01 Mark with Negative Marking of 0.33 Mark for each Wrong / Multiple Answer, and would be based on the following Syllabus :

· Viva-voce Test shall be of 50 Marks.
· The object of the Viva-voce Test is to assess the suitability of the Candidate for the cadre by judging the mental alertness, knowledge of law, clear and logical exposition, balance of judgement, skills, attitude, ethics, power of assimilation, power of communication, character and intellectual depth and the like, of the Candidate.
· For being eligible to be included in the Select List, the Candidate has to obtain minimum 40% Marks in the Viva- voce Test
Final Merit List & Selection Process
The final selection is based on the combined marks obtained in the Main Exam and Viva-Voce. The Preliminary Exam marks are not considered in the final merit list.
Bond Requirement
Selected candidates must sign a bond of ₹5,00,000, committing to serve for a minimum of three yearsafter training.
Disqualification Criteria

· Dismissal from government service.
· Multiple marriages violating legal provisions.
· Influence or manipulation in the recruitment process.
