ABOUT THE CONFERENCE: Modern Warfare, Human Rights and International Law: Challenges and Responses
Modern warfare has evolved beyond traditional combat, posing complex challenges to international law and human rights. With advancements in technology, cyber warfare, and economic tactics, conflicts now extend into digital and economic spheres, threatening global stability. These modern conflicts lead to widespread displacement, erosion of civil liberties, and severe humanitarian crises. Additionally, warfare’s environmental consequences—pollution, habitat destruction, and climate change—further compound global challenges. This conference aims to examine the legal, ethical, and strategic dimensions of modern warfare, fostering discussions on the role of international law in protecting human rights and ensuring global security.
BACKGROUND OF WARFARE
The evolution of warfare refers to the historical progression of combat methods, from early battles fought with basic weaponry like spears and arrows, to modern conflicts utilizing advanced technologies like nuclear weapons, characterized by shifts in tactics, strategies, and the introduction of new technologies across different eras, often categorized into generations of warfare with distinct features like mass infantry, industrial firepower, and now increasingly, cyber operations and information warfare.
MODERN WARFARE & THE LAW
The future of modern warfare is likely to be driven by advanced technologies, hybrid strategies, and ethical problems that will reshape how conflicts are conducted and resolved. Here are some key trends shaping the future of warfare:
1. Artificial Intelligence and Automation: AI is expected to play a major role in warfare, with autonomous systems such as drones, robots, and unmanned vehicles performing tasks ranging from reconnaissance to direct combat. These technologies will allow for faster decision-making and new ways to gather intelligence, though they also raise questions about human control and accountability in warfare.
2. Cyber Warfare and Information Warfare: Cyber-attacks targeting infrastructure, communication networks, and even elections will likely become more frequent, allowing state and non-state actors to inflict damage without traditional military force. Cyber warfare enables nations to strike covertly, with far-reaching impacts on economies and public trust.
3. Biotechnological Warfare: Advances in biotechnology may lead to biological warfare tactics or new medical treatments that enhance soldiers' performance. Submission Guidelines:
Abstract:
• Submissions are to be made only in electronic form. The same may be e-mailed to iuuconferencelaw25@iuu.ac in MS Word format along with a covering letter addressed to Organizing Secretary.
• The abstract must be developed on A4-sheet in Word Document Format typed in Times New Roman in 12 font size with 1.5 line spacing in not more than 500 words. It should not contain more than Five Keywords.
• The abstract should contain personal details of the author(s) in the order: Title of the paper, Name, Designation, Institute/ University/ College/Organization, Contact number, E-mail, and address (es), of the author(s).
• Kindly indicate the name of the main author for correspondence in case of more than one author. All abstracts will be peer reviewed and evaluated based on originality, research rigor, relevance to the conference, and contribution to the theory and practice.
FULL PAPER SUBMISSIONS:
• Submissions are to be made only in electronic form. The same may be e-mailed to iuuconferencelaw25@iuu.ac in MS Word format along with a covering letter addressed to Organizing Secretary.
• Title must be written in bold, size 14 and centered margin. Original Manuscripts must be in single spacing, font size 12 in Times New Roman and all margins: 1.5 inches (left) and 1 inch (top, right and bottom).
• Tables must be placed as part of the text. DO NOT attach tables at the end of the manuscript. Soft Manuscript must be submitted in Microsoft Word 2007 in the above format ONLY.
• Sub-Title must be written in bold, size 12 and left margin.
• Title of the tables/figure should be written on the top of the tables/figure. Times New Roman, font 12, Bold and centered margin.
• Footnoting should be done strictly according to Bluebook 20th Edition, Times New Roman, Size 10, Line -Spacing 1
• Word limit of articles should be of 4000-4500 words (excluding references and footnotes).
RULES FOR PARTICIPATION
• No abstract or full paper shall be accepted after the last date of submission.
• Registration is mandatory on confirmation of acceptance of abstract, with the payment of required fees to be deposited in the

• Only registered participants will be allowed to take part in International Conference.
• No refund will be allowed once a participant/paper presenter is registered.
• All the registered participants will be provided participation certificate.
• The selected papers of each session will be acknowledged and published in Peer Review Journal or would be recommended for Scopus Publication subject to the acceptance and fee.
• The conference will be held in a hybrid format. Participants attending in person will be responsible for arranging their own accommodation. However, the organizers can provide recommendation and suggestions upon request.
• Breakfast and lunch to the participants will be provided by the university.
• Up to two co-authors are allowed.
• No in-absentia presentations will be allowed. At least one author must present for presentation.
