INFORMATION ABOUT DIRECT RECRUIMENT TO GRADE-III OF ASSAM JUDICIAL SERVICE

The official notification of recruitment in Grade-III Assam Judicial Service has been out by Guahati High Court. There are total 22 posts. And the exam will be taken in three steps Preliminary Examination, Main Examination and Viva-voce or Interview . Candidates must have law degree .

3. PAY GRADE

Under 77,840-1,36,520 /- per month plus other allowances as admissible under the rules.

4. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA 

Must be holder of a Law Degree from any university recognized by the Bar Council of India .

Age Limit 

For Unreserved Category – 38 years 

For SC/ST – 43

[ They must not have completed their age limit on the last date fixed for receipt of application]

A candidate must be a citizen of India (As defined in Article 5 and 6 of the Constitution of India) . 

Detailed scrutiny of the applications will be made after the declaration of the result of the main written examination . But the suppression of any misrepresentation / false document will be subjected to the rejection of the application and step will be taken against them . 

5. SELECTION CRITERIA 

   The selection process consist of a Preliminary Examination (Screening Test) , a Main (Written) Examination and a Interview .

   Those candidates who will secure 60% or more marks in the Preliminary Examination shall be eligible for Main Examination . 

   The candidates who will obtain minimum 60% marks in the Main Examination (at least 45% marks in individual paper – I , II , III , IV and minimum 35% marks in the official language paper – paper V ) shall be eligible for Viva Voce .

For SC/ST candidates 50% marks in the Main Examination (40% marks in individual paper -I,II,III,IV and 35% marks in the official language paper – paper V ) shall be eligible for Viva Voce . 

4. The marks in the language paper shall be only qualifying in nature .

5. The candidates will be called for Viva Voce in 1:3 ratio (3 candidates against 1 post ) 

6. The candidates shall have to secure minimum 60% marks in the interview .

(Candidates who deposits application fees after the due date (05/03/2025) will not be considered)

7. APPLICATION PROCESS

Step 1 : In step 1 after clicking in the apply button candidate has to provide basic information ( Name , Father’s Name , DOB , Mobile No and Email ID ) . After the submission of the basic information the system will generate a Registration Code which will be displayed on the same page prominently . Though system will send email immediately the registration code but sometimes system error can happen so candidates are requested to note down the registration code from the page carefully . 

Step 2 : Now Candidate have to login by giving the registration code for next 2,3,4 no. step . Now candidate will have to provide his/her details like gender , category , address , qualifications , experience etc . Then the candidate has to save the data by clicking the Update Data button . 

Step 3 :  In this step candidate have to upload his / her photograph image and signature image . Only in .jpg , .png or .gif format . And the image size should be between 5KB and 30 KB  . 

[ Note – Fresh registration process for candidate will be closed on the last date of registration also Candidate can keep uploading / modifying candidature specific data in step 2 and step 3 till last date of registration ] 

In step 3 , Submit Candidature button is required to be used to finally post the candidature for the examination . ( No more modification will be possible after submission of the candidature ) 

Step 4 : After submission of the candidature the candidate should take a print out of the fee payment challan by clicking the Print Fee Payment Challan Form button . The candidates can pay the fee after two working days from the date of submission and on or before the last date fixed for payment of fees . 

The payment can be made at any branch of State Bank of India . The mode pf payment is cash only . 

For payment , candidate approach the bank along with the challan copy and the fee amount reflected on the challan . On the payment of the same , the bank will provide a journal number . Please ensure to have the bank official’s signature and seal on the challan copy . Please keep the candidate’s copy of the challan carefully for future . And the payment information will be reflected on the candidate’s account after two working days from the date of the payment at the bank . 

Candidates should print the Acknowledgement Receipt and Application Form generated by the system after completion of payment process for future use .

2. [FOR PwBD CANDIDATES - As per notification , PwBD candidates belonging to only locomotor disability can apply for the above posts . They will be given benefits of age relaxation and they do not have to pay for the application process . There is no post reserved for PwBD candidates but if anyone applies he/he will be considered under general standard of merit . Candidate have to submit their disability certificate in the format . Upper age limit for general category PwBD candidate shall be relaxable by 10 years and for SC/ST candidate 15 years ]
